WINNER OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

This National Sea Center established on the shores of the North Sea at the crossroads of France, England and Belgium, Nausicaa integrates large aquariums and scenographic spaces dedicated to education in the marine world and develops through its many permanent and temporary exhibitions the theme of the preservation of the World Ocean and its resources, in connection with a technical fishing center. Nausicaa welcomes 900,000 people every year in its 22,000 m² exhibition space.

DESCRIPTION
NAAUSICAA I : 1984 - 1991

Renovation of the casino into a culture, science, and technique oriented building. It includes a big aquarium, exhibitions and a media library.

NAUSICAA II: 1995-1999
The new circular building completes the old one and houses two main wide themes: the whole sea and its lagoon and the sea lions.
